Description

Carmelite Priory is a priory built between 1886 and 1889 by the architects Goldie, Child and Goldie. It features a long range of five-storey buildings constructed from stock brick with stone dressings, designed in a flamboyant Gothic style. The windows are square-headed and have stone surrounds. The building is topped with a tall slate roof that includes a parapet and stone gabled, pinnacled dormers. The return elevation to the left is also noteworthy.
