Description

The Cabmen's Shelter, built in 1888, is a timber-framed structure featuring tongue and groove timber panels and a felt-clad timber roof. It measures seven bays by three bays, with the entrance located at the center of the north side. Windows are positioned in the upper wall of the second, fourth, and sixth bays. The roof has a stump of a fleche and decorative rafter ends at the eaves. This shelter is one of the earliest surviving examples, constructed by the Cabmen's Shelter Fund.
