Description

This is a group of houses at 10-24 Royal Avenue, Chelsea, built in the early 19th century. The houses are arranged as a balanced block, with most being four storeys high and featuring basements. Each house is two windows wide. The exterior is brick, with a stucco finish on the ground floor. Stucco pilasters run up the facades of the central and end houses, defining the window bays and connected by a cornice at the third floor level. Iron balconies are attached to the first-floor windows. The houses are part of a grand avenue layout designed to lead towards the Royal Hospital.
