Description

Numbers 21-39 constitute a group of 19 terraced houses built around 1817-1822. The houses are constructed of yellow and brown stock brick, with roofs hidden behind parapets, and brick party-wall stacks. They follow a side-hall entrance plan, with a staircase inside. A covered passageway is situated between numbers 29 and 30, providing access from the street to a rear green space.

The houses are three storeys in height, with two windows on each facade. Low steps lead to the entrances, which alternate between left and right bays. Each doorway features fluted pilaster jambs supporting a corniced head, with an original six-panelled door and a fanlight containing curved and radial glazing bars. The windows are six-over-six sash windows, set within gauged brick flat arches on the upper floors. The first-floor windows incorporate a stucco sill band and original iron balconies (located at numbers 27, 28, 30, 31, 34, 36-40) which feature various cast-iron railing patterns. The parapets are plain with stone coping. Attached cast iron area railings are present, topped with urn finials.
