Description
Christchurch Vicarage is a detached house built between 1875 and 1876. It is constructed from dressed Kentish ragstone with Bath stone dressings and has a roof made of Welsh slate. The building features three storeys above a basement, with an irregular arrangement of windows. The front facing Highbury Grove appears as two wings; one wing has three storeys while the other, set slightly back, has two storeys, both topped with hipped roofs. There is also a gabled wing to the west.
A shallow gabled porch is located on the right-hand wing, featuring a pointed-arched entrance that is deeply recessed, complete with a panelled door and overlight. The left-hand wing has a single-storey bay window with a flat-arched window containing four lights, which have chamfered mullions and transoms. Most of the upper windows include mullions with chamfer stops. The right-hand wing has a full dormer, while the west wing is entirely blank on the north side, featuring a coped gable and a corniced stack at the apex.
