Description
Numbers 1 to 12 Tibberton Square are a row of terraced houses built in 1827, developed by Thomas Wontner. They are constructed of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with a roof hidden by a parapet. The houses are arranged over four storeys, with two windows on each floor. Numbers 5 to 8 are set back one brick's thickness, creating a symmetrical grouping. All window and door openings have gauged brick heads.
A round-arched entrance is accessed via steps and features wooden, fluted quarter-columns, a cornice, a fanlight with decorative glazing, and a panelled door. The ground-floor windows are round-arched, incorporating sashes with radiating glazing bars. Upper-floor windows have original 6/6 sashes. A brick string course sits below the parapet. Number 12 has a single-storey porch on its north-west side alongside a side entrance, with blank windows on that side. It also has ground-floor windows facing Tibberton Square. Number 1 has a side entrance to the south-east, and displays blank windows on that side while retaining ground-floor windows facing the square. Party wall stacks are present. Cast-iron railings are attached to the area.
