Description

There are six bollards located on the north and north-west sides of Charterhouse Square, dating from the 19th century. They are made of cast iron. Two bollards, designed in a cannon style, are positioned on either side of the entrance to Rutland Place from Charterhouse Square. Another pair of cannon-type bollards flanks the entrance to the Charterhouse, with the left one inscribed 'ST. JAMES/ CLERKEN/ WELL'. Additionally, there are two octagonal bollards at the entrance to Charterhouse Street from Charterhouse Square.
