Description
The wall on the north side of the Anatomy Building at St Bartholomew's Medical College is a mid-19th century brick structure, approximately 23 metres long. It features two 14th century stone pointed-arched doorways. One doorway is exposed behind glass on the northern part of the wall, while the other is incorporated into the southern part of the wall, visible from the dissecting room of the Anatomy Building. These doorways were originally part of the east side of the great cloister of the Carthusian monastery founded in 1371 and provided access to the individual cells typical of Carthusian foundations.
