Description

This is a wall built in the early 19th century, extending for approximately 90 metres westwards from Arlington Way in Islington. It is constructed of purple brick, with some sections replaced in yellow brick, and is laid in Flemish bond. The wall stands about 2 metres high and features gabled coping. About forty metres from Arlington Way, there are initials, dates, and other graffiti scratched into the brick by French prisoners who were employed to build the wall.
