Description

The Vicarage to the Church of St Benet Fink was built around 1912 by J S Alder. It is constructed of red brick with rendered gables and has a slate roof. The building has a square double-range plan, featuring a main three-bay entrance front that overlooks the east end of the church. It is two storeys high with an attic. The entrance is located in the central section between projecting buttresses, flanked by two windows on each main floor, with the first-floor window set in a linked arched surround. There is a three-light window under the gable, which has a brick cross set in the render. The side elevation consists of two bays with two gables, featuring round-arched casement windows, including a right-hand ground floor window that has a projecting bay. All the windows are casements. The interior retains many original features, notably a fine carved oak staircase. The vicarage is included as part of a formal composition with the Church of St Benet Fink.
