Description
Blenheim Lodge is a late 19th-century villa located on the west side of the Great North Road. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and has five windows. The facade is arranged as 2:1:2 on the first floor, with a more irregular arrangement below. It features a high-pitched tiled roof with decorative ridge tiles and end chimneys. A wide, central hipped dormer is topped with three round-arched lights, each with a radial head within a pilaster and entablature surround. The construction is primarily stock brick with red brick dressings. The eaves have an egg-and-dart detail, and the ground floor features a dentil cornice with a double course of floral terra-cotta tiles arranged in panels below, with similar tiles present at the left and centre of the facade. A central paired round-arched opening, featuring moulded architraves and key blocks, frames the front door and a stained-glass window. To the left is a canted bay window with a balcony above, and the sash windows have smaller upper sashes. The first-floor centre window is set within a moulded brick architrave with scrolled sides.
