Description
No. 56 Brook Green is a mid-19th century house built of yellow stock brick. It stands three storeys high, with a basement and attic dormers. The door and windows feature stucco surrounds, and there is a pediment above the door. The ground floor has a canted bay with a pierced parapet above it. The roof is covered with slate. A plaque from the London County Council commemorates the residence of Sir Frank Short, an engraver and painter who lived from 1857 to 1945. There are cast iron railings leading up to the steps.
