Description
Temple Gardens is a group of buildings dated 1878 and designed by E.M. Barry. Constructed of exuberant Portland stone, the building is in a modified 16th-century French chateau style. It consists of two blocks joined over an archway at the south end of Middle Temple Lane. The structure features a battered basement, four main storeys, and two further storeys set within a steep slated roof with cresting. Additional details include rounded corner towers, tall bay windows, balconies, rich figure sculpture and carving, an elaborated centre-piece, and stone dormers.
