Description

6 Crane Court, which includes the former 18 Red Lion Court, is a building dating from around 1670, designed by Nicholas Barbon. It was damaged by fire in 1971. The building is similar to No 5 Crane Court but features three windows and an additional storey. The inset doorcase, dating from the early to mid-18th century, has rusticated pilasters and a triple key. At the rear, there is an early 19th-century wing that is of full height. The exterior is made of yellow brick, with some parts rebuilt. Inside, there is one original decorated ceiling on the first floor, which is of lesser quality compared to No 5. The building has an untypical plan.
