Description
The war memorial, built in 1921, honors the fallen of Lincoln's Inn. It is made of Portland stone and features a high central structure with projecting wings that curve and incorporate seating. Access to the memorial is via three steps that are an integral part of the design. The wings display plaques commemorating members of Lincoln's Inn who lost their lives during the First World War from 1914 to 1918. The central cenotaph, which has a battered appearance, is inscribed with 'Pro Patria Sangvienem Largitis' and includes plaques dedicated to those who fell in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945.
