Description

This is a lamp post located at the St Pancras Almshouses, positioned to the north of numbers 1-5 on Southampton Road. It was made in the late 19th century and is constructed from cast iron. The lamp post features an octagonal pedestal and a spiral column adorned with decorative flowers, leaves, and beading. It includes a swan neck bracket and a saucer bulb holder. A plate on the lamp post indicates that it was manufactured by the Acme Lighting and Engineering Company of St Albans.
