Description
This is a terrace of four houses, numbers 4 to 7, located on the south side of Handel Street in Camden. The houses were likely built around 1800. Numbers 6 and 7 had their second and third floors redone in the mid-20th century to match the original appearance. Numbers 4 and 5 are built of brown brick, showing some signs of repointing, with the third floor of number 5 having been refaced. Numbers 6 and 7 are of darkened yellow stock brick. The houses are three windows wide, with stucco bands marking the sill levels of the first and third floors. Each house has a basement. The doorways are round-arched, with reeded pilaster supports leading up to corniced heads, above which are fanlights; numbers 5 to 7 have fanlights with a radial pattern, and all have panelled doors. The recessed sash windows have two panes and are set within gauged red brick arches. The first floor of each house has cast-iron balconies. Parapets top the buildings. The interiors were not inspected during the listing process. Attached cast-iron railings with urn finials are present around the areas.
