Description
The Former Prince George of Cumberland Public House is a terraced building located at 195 Albany Street in Camden. It dates from the early 19th century, with a public house frontage that was modified in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of yellow stock brick and features a wooden public house frontage. It has a slated mansard roof with dormers and consists of three storeys, an attic, and cellars. The building has four windows on the main facade and a two-window return to Chester Place, one of which is blind. The public house frontage is adorned with Corinthian pilasters that support an entablature, while the windows and doorway were altered in the late 20th century. The building also features gauged red brick flat arches above recessed sash windows and a parapet.
The interior was closed during the last inspection in 1995, but it was noted to retain much of its mid-19th century character and fittings.
