Description

This is a terrace of nine houses, numbers 8 to 24 (even), built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco and are arranged symmetrically, with a projecting central bay encompassing numbers 14 to 18, featuring a slightly pedimented capping. Each house has two storeys and one window. The doorways have plain stucco surrounds with pilaster details that extend upwards to cornice-like features. They contain fanlights and panelled doors. The windows are recessed architraved sash windows with margin glazing. The first-floor windows of numbers 8 to 14 are distinguished by console bracketed cornices, while those of numbers 20 to 24 have cast-iron window guards. A plain stucco band runs along the first floor, and shallow, round-arched niches are inset at the divisions between the houses, rising through the entire first floor. The terrace is finished with a cornice and blocking course. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. Attached cast-iron railings define the front areas.
