Description
Baythorn Grove is an early 19th century house constructed from knapped flint with red brick dressings. The front elevations are divided into panels by vertical and horizontal lines of red brick. The east front features a parapet and has two storeys with attics. It includes a three-window range on the east front and a two-window range on the south front, featuring double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in painted reveals. The central entrance has a glazed door with panelled reveals and is framed by a wide Roman Doric portico supported by fluted columns, with a frieze and cornice above. The south front boasts a shallow three-light bay window that extends through two storeys, topped with a curved, swept canopy above the ground storey French casements. The roof is slate, hipped, and includes two flat-headed dormers on the south front and one on the north. A ramped flint wall with brick capping runs to the north and south along the east front.
