Description

The garden gates and gate piers located to the south of Culford Hall date from the late 19th century and are classified as Grade II. The gates are made of heavy wrought iron and each is operated by a small wheel that runs along a grooved stone semi-circle on the ground. The two stone piers, which date from the early 19th century, are square in shape and feature a tooled stone base with vermiculated rustication. Each pier has a frieze on its faces that displays a medallion flanked by two paterae. The piers have a stepped top that is topped with a large urn.
