Description
Hargrave Hall is a house dating from the mid 16th century, with alterations made in the early 18th century and early 19th century. It has a three-cell, cross passage entry plan and stands two storeys high with four windows. The structure is timber-framed and encased in early 19th century red brick. The roof is covered with plaintiles and features axial and gable chimneys from around 1700, made of red brick. The windows from the 19th century have gauged brick flat arches and late 19th century small-pane casements. The entrance door is recessed and has an early 19th century architrave and a flat canopy supported by brackets. Inside, there is a clasped-purlin roof from around 1700, and the mid 16th century framing is well-preserved but unmoulded.
