Description

The stone cross base, located 20 metres south of the east end of St. Andrews Church, dates from the late medieval period and is made of limestone. It stands approximately 0.90 metres high and has a square base measuring 0.90 metres on each side. The cross base features an octagonal plinth with a frieze that displays two four-leafed flowers on each of its eight faces, along with chamfered square corner blocks. The upper face has a square recess that holds a weathered block, which measures about 0.30 metres on each side. In the 19th century, the rector relocated this cross base from a nearby field into the churchyard.
