Description
The Cock Inn is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house that was refronted in the 18th century and renovated in the 20th century. It stands two storeys high and features a five-window range arranged in a pattern of 1:3:1, with the central three-window section slightly projecting forward. The windows are casements with glazing bars and have stucco hood moulds. The central window above the doorway has an elliptical head with arched glazing. The entrance features a wooden doorcase with pilasters and an open pediment, accessed by steps. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The Cock Inn is part of a group that includes Lavender Cottage, The Old Post Office, and several other buildings along The Street.
