Description

Ark Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1612, as indicated by a plaque on the chimney. It has two storeys and a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building is timber-framed and rendered, featuring scratched oblong panels. The roof is slated and has an axial chimney made of red brick, which displays a saw-tooth pattern on its flues and has a square base with an inset central panel that also bears the date 1612. This date likely refers to both the chimney and possibly the house itself. The farmhouse has mid-20th century casements and a 19th-century two-storey entrance porch with a gabled slated roof. The upper floor of the porch has a hood-moulded casement, and there is an open 20th-century slated canopy supported by timber posts.
