Description
Nos. 43, 45, and 47 High Street are two shops with a dwelling above, dating from the early 19th century, with rear wings that are remnants of a late 17th-century structure. The building has five windows and stands three storeys tall with attics. It is constructed of red brick and features a slated roof with a central axial chimney made of red brick. The sash windows have flat arches made of gauged brick; the second floor has small-pane sashes, while larger panes have been inserted at the first floor. A notable feature is a central flat-roofed splayed bay at the first floor, which is topped with ornamental wrought iron cresting. The two rear wings are two storeys high and are timber-framed and rendered, showcasing large chimneys made of gault brick, representing the earlier building that once occupied this site.
