Description
Nos. 35 and 37 High Street are two shops with a dwelling above, originally built as one house in the late 17th century, with 19th-century alterations. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a timber frame that is rendered and topped with a parapet. The roof is slated, with a parapet gable and a chimney made of red brick. There are flat-roofed dormers with sash windows. On the first floor, there are two early 19th-century small-pane sash windows, alongside a later 19th-century splayed bay window with a hipped roof. The ground floor has two early 20th-century shop fronts. The entrance features an early 19th-century six-panelled door with an oblong fanlight and fluted pilasters. The architrave remains of a second 19th-century doorway can be found to the left.
