Description
Demeter House is a building that was originally constructed as a house and is now used as offices. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The structure is timber-framed and has rendered panels, topped with a slate roof that features a boxed eaves cornice.
The exterior consists of two storeys, an attic, and a cellar. It has a three-window range with sashes that do not have glazing bars, set in flush cased frames. There is one flat-headed dormer window. The central entrance features a six-panel door within a doorcase that includes pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a cornice. Additionally, the oriel window at the apex of the north gable is a 20th-century replacement. The interior has not been inspected.
