Description

Nos. 4, 5, and 6 Buttermarket are two shops with storage above, built in the early 19th century. The buildings are timber-framed and rendered, topped with a slate roof that features a modillion eaves cornice. They rise three storeys and include a cellar, standing forward with two fronts. The second storey slightly projects on both fronts, showcasing a modillion soffit beneath the overhang. Above the first storey, there is a cornice adorned with mutules. The second storey has a three-window range, with the two outer windows being three-light late 19th-century sashes that include a single vertical bar in the lights. The first storey features 20th-century three-light windows set in slightly recessed semicircular arches. The ground storey has 20th-century shop fronts.
