Description

No. 59 The Street is a house dating from the late 17th century. It has a three-cell lobby-entrance plan and is one storey high with attics. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with the front wall encased in 19th-century gault brick. It features a concrete plaintiled roof with central and end chimneys made of gault brick, as well as gabled casement dormers. The windows are 20th-century casements set in segmental-arched 19th-century openings. The door, located in the lobby-entrance position, is framed and boarded and dates from the 20th century. The roof structure is a clasped-purlin design.
