Description
Hillwatering Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of timber framing and rendered, with parts covered in plain tiles and pantiles. The building features a mix of one and a half storeys, as well as two storeys with attics. All the windows are mid-20th century, consisting of standard 2-light and 3-light casements.
On the left side, the lower section of the house has two gabled dormers, while the higher section includes a lobby entrance with an internal chimney stack that has a plain red brick shaft. There is an original two-storey porch that features a projecting tie-beam with a double ovolo-mould, along with a later lean-to added to its right side. The tie-beam on the right gable of this section projects but is covered with plaster. A wing extends from the centre of the rear wall, and the moulding on its tie-beam matches that of the porch. Additionally, a single-storey bay with a lean-to roof has been added to the left of the porch. Access to the property is refused.
