Description
The stable range located 60 meters northeast of The Old Rectory was built in the late 16th century or early 17th century as a barn and was converted to stabling in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features a timber frame with plaster, topped by a hipped thatched roof. The building has semi-circular stable windows with metal opening lights and leaded glazing, which flank boarded stable doors at the end bays. In the center, there are two pairs of diagonally boarded full-height doors. The structure showcases good studwork from around 1600 with tension bracing and a clasped purlin roof. Some interior fittings from the late 18th or early 19th century, including stalls and hayracks, are also present. At the time of the survey, the building was in poor condition.
