Description

Friars Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the first half of the 17th century. It is timber framed, featuring old plasterwork on the front and left gable end, while the rest of the building is roughcast-rendered. The roof is clad in corrugated iron over thatch. The farmhouse is 1½ storeys tall and has a three-cell layout. Most of the windows are 19th century casements. The cross-entry includes a mid-20th century gabled porch with a half-glazed side door, and there is a boarded door located at the extreme right. The building has one recessed dormer and an internal stack with a rendered shaft. There are one-storey pantiled additions to the left and rear. Inside, nearly all of the frame is concealed, with plain joists set flat in the hall and parlour.
