Description
The Pightle is a house, which was later divided into two dwellings, dating from the mid to late 17th century and altered in the 20th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a thatched roof. The building has a four-bay, three-cell lobby entrance plan and is one storey with an attic. The entrance is located to the left of the centre, with 20th-century casement windows. To the right of the centre, there is a three-light leaded part-opening metal frame eyebrow dormer that is also thatched. A ridge stack with a rebuilt capping is positioned to the left of centre. The left end has a three-light glazing bar attic casement and shows exposed plates and purlins. The right end features a 20th-century outshut with an entrance. At the rear, there is a short lean-to addition behind the stack, which includes a half-glazed door and a flat-roofed outshut. Inside, there are chamfered cross axial binding beams and a stop-chamfered fireplace bressumer. The frame is largely concealed, but some studding is exposed, along with a mid-rail and through tension bracing.
