Description
Ashfield Lodge is an early 19th-century house constructed of gault brick. It features hipped slated roofs with a hidden gutter behind a moulded and modillioned cornice. The building has internal chimneys made of gault brick and stands two storeys tall. The main range has five windows, with a slightly set-back range of three windows to the left, and a later 19th-century block that is set forward by one triple window width. The windows are small-pane sashes with flat arches made of gauged brick. The ground storey windows in the main range have semicircular blind arched heads. The centre bay is slightly set forward and topped with a pediment. The inner entrance doorway features a semi-circular fanlight with tracery. There is a Tuscan portico porch with twin columns flanking the entrance, along with a flat entablature that has triglyphs. The glazing and the pair of glazed panelled doors are likely a later 19th-century addition. There is a single-storey extension to the right from the late 19th century, as well as other extensions to the rear. The interior has not been examined.
