Description
Rectory Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, featuring a three-cell main range with a later 17th-century wing that is set forward to the left, creating an L-shaped plan. The building was renovated in the 1960s and is constructed of timber framing with plaster, topped by a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic in the main range, with various mid-20th-century casement windows. A mid-20th-century glazed door serves as the lobby entry, located in a slightly projecting two-storey entrance addition. The internal stack has three tall shafts arranged in a sawtooth pattern, while there is a gable stack on the later wing. The interior has been significantly modernised, featuring axial ceiling beams in the hall and parlour with concealed joists, plain studding on the first floor, and a clasped purlin roof. The later wing includes re-used components from the 16th century or earlier, although the interior has not been fully examined.
