Description
Tostock House is a house from the early 19th century, with a core that likely dates back to around 1600. It is constructed of flint rubble with gault brick dressings, surrounding a timber-framed core. The roof is plaintiled and hipped at the left end. There is an axial chimney made of early 17th century red brick, featuring four octagonal shafts each with a moulded base. Other internal chimneys are made of early 19th century gault brick. The house has three notable early 18th century dormers, which have lead-clad segmental roofs and segmental-headed casements with leaded lights. The building is two storeys high with attics and has a four-window main range, featuring small-pane early 19th century sash windows. The ground storey windows have flat arches made of gauged brick. The entrance door is panelled and has an architrave with a segmental pediment. There is a 19th century range at the rear, and a remodelling from around 1970 in brown brick on the right side.
