Description

The Parson Memorial is a chest tomb located about 15 meters north of the Church of St Mary in Rickinghall Superior. It commemorates J. Parson, who died in 1811. The tomb is constructed of ashlar stone and features a moulded base with a pyramidally ridged capstone. The chest tapers towards a narrower base, and its sides are adorned with fielded panels that have indented quadrant corners. One long side is inscribed, and the corners are highlighted by fielded panelled angle pilasters topped with guilloche ornamented caps.
