Description
Stone Cottage is a house dating from around 1800. It is constructed of random flint with buff brick and knapped flint dressings, and features sections of grey brick on the upper floor to each side of the center. The building has a first-floor brick band and a slated roof, standing two storeys high with a basement. The facade is asymmetrical with five bays, where the windows on the left are more closely spaced. The windows are sash style with glazing bars in flush frames. The ground floor windows have semi-circular arches with stuccoed infilling. The doorway, accessed by a flight of four stone steps, features a six-panel raised and fielded door with an architrave and arch that match the ground floor windows. Above the doorway is a low and wide first-floor window with a segmental head and radiating glazing bars. To the right of the steps leading to the main doorway is a wrought iron railing with a gate, and further steps lead down to a wide plank door into the basement.
