Description
The churchyard wall, located about 25 meters south of the Church of St George, is primarily from the 18th century but likely has an earlier core. It is constructed from flint rubble with inclusions of red brick and limestone rubble. The wall features gabled limestone copings, some of which are probably medieval. It stands about 1 meter high and extends for approximately 90 meters, forming the southern boundary of the churchyard. There are wrought iron gates opposite the south church doorway. At the east end, a 10-meter section of the wall is on a different alignment and was likely rebuilt around 1855 following the church's restoration. Embedded within the flint rubble walling in this section are fragments of limestone tracery that were evidently taken from the medieval windows during that time.
