Description

This is a 17th-century bridge located 30 metres southeast of Fasbourn Hall. It is constructed of red brick and spans the remaining eastern arm of a medieval moat that once surrounded Fasbourn Hall, serving as the main approach to the house. The bridge features twin round arches with a cutwater between them, and at the base of the parapet, there is a semicircular string course. The parapets, which are approximately 3 metres apart and 1 metre high, are topped with terracotta copings that match those on the garden wall attached to Fasbourn Hall. At the east end of the bridge, the parapets are splayed outwards.
