Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with the section to the right of the stack possibly being later. The building is timber framed with old plasterwork, and features late 19th century colourwashed brick rebuilding up to the eaves level on the right side. It has a thatched roof and is 1½ storeys tall, arranged in a 3-cell form.
On the ground floor, there are two 15-paned windows; one is from the 19th century and the other is a replacement from 1986. To the right, there is a 3-light segmental-headed casement window and a boarded entrance door. The house has one eyebrow dormer with a 19th-century window. There is an internal stack with a rendered shaft and a small stack against the left gable end.
The hall and service cells, which are in two bays, feature exposed full-height studs and arched wall braces. There are blocked diamond-mullioned windows in the service chamber, and exposed joists running lengthwise, with those at the service end being irregular. The hall contains an open fireplace, and the roof is supported by wind-braced side purlins. Most of the structure in the parlour end has been altered or lost.
