Description

No. 7 Cornhill is an early 19th-century building made of stucco, featuring a parapet and a stucco modillion cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has three window openings, which contain double-hung sashes without glazing bars, set within stucco architraves that have keystones. The first-storey windows are adorned with dentilled cornices and are protected by cast iron ornamental guard railings. The ground storey includes a 20th-century shop and has a covered arcade supported by square pillars, also featuring a dentilled cornice. The roof is covered with slate. No. 7, along with Nos. 8, 13, 15, the Golden Lion Hotel, the Town Hall, and the Post Office, forms a group of notable buildings.
