Description
St Mary Le Tower Church House is an L-shaped timber-framed and plastered building, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, with many features from the 18th century. It has two storeys and attics. The building has three windows facing Oak Lane and four windows overlooking the Tower Church yard, all featuring double-hung sashes with glazing bars in flush cased frames. The central section of the building projects slightly and rises above the eaves line, topped with a pedimented dormer that has side scrolls and a three-light window. There is a central doorway with a six-panel door, where the upper panels are glazed, and this is adorned with an open pediment supported by enriched console brackets, along with an architrave decorated with egg and dart moulding. The Churchyard side features a three-light oriel bay window on the first storey, situated above a 20th-century doorway. The roof is tiled and has a modillion eaves cornice on both fronts. St Mary Le Tower Church House is part of a group that includes the Church, No 7 (Pykenham), and the garden wall to No 9 Northgate Street.
