Description
No 36 on Chediston Street is a 17th-century building that stands two stories high with an attic. It features a timber frame that is plastered and whitened. The roof has a steep pitch and is covered with pantiles, while the north gable includes a leaded casement window. The building has a brick base with a plinth and two flush frame three-light casements on both the ground and first floors, with some remaining leaded glass on the first floor. There is a modern door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, and a wing extends to the west. Historical documents refer to Halesworth Manor in connection with this property. Inside, there are two-panel doors with wrought hinges on lugs and stop-chamfered beams.
