Description

The Church of All Saints is a parish church that originally dates from the 14th century, with significant restoration occurring in the mid-19th century. The early 16th-century tower was restored in 1809. The nave and chancel are combined, and there is a 19th-century south porch. The west tower is constructed of red brick featuring dark headers arranged in a diaper pattern. The north and south walls of the nave and chancel are made of a mixture of rubble, flint, and septaria, finished with stucco. The west wall was rebuilt in the 19th century using flint and red brick, with red brick quoins. The roof is plain tiled.

The tower has two stages, with stepped diagonal buttresses, moulded brick string courses, and a castellated parapet. It features a heptagonal turret stair topped with a plain tile roof. The restored three-light west window is designed in the perpendicular style, and the bell chamber openings on all four sides have two-light moulded brick 'Y' tracery and pointed brick arches. The south porch is made of red brick with a gable finished in cement stucco and a plain tile roof. All windows and doorways have been restored in the 19th century.

Inside, the church has been completely restored. It features a 16th-century octagonal font adorned with alternating Evangelists and griffins on the bowl, angels with outstretched wings below, and figures of 'wild men' on the stem. There is also a Georgian pulpit, and the stained glass in the east window is a notable example of Victorian craftsmanship. The church is listed as Grade II* primarily for its tower.
