Description
This is a late 16th-century house. It is timber-framed and now has colourwashed render, with a thatched roof. The house is single-storey with an attic. The front of the house has a large, 20th-century single-bay extension on the right. To the left of this extension is the original part of the house, which features a porch with a catslide roof. The porch has a two-light casement window, with a 20th-century plank door on its left side. To the right of the porch is another two-light casement window. Three two-light casement windows are located to the left of the porch, and three two-light eyebrow dormers are in the attic. An axial ridge stack with two flues, rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries, sits above the porch. The left-hand gable end has a three-light casement window on the ground floor, and a two-light casement window on the first floor, with a flat-roofed single-storey extension slightly to the left. The rear elevation has panelled pargetting near the centre, and extends further with a wing. On the rear of the original range, there's a two-light and single-light casement window, with a two-light eyebrow dormer above. A 20th-century extension sits to the left of this. Inside, the ceilings are supported by massive, chamfered late 16th-century beams, with jowled wall posts and run-out end stops. The chamfered joists also have barred run-out end stops.
