Description
Rook Farm House is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a 19th-century brick skin added to the north and south sides. The building is a single storey with an attic and has small 20th-century extensions to the south and east. The steep pantile roof features capping pieces on the bargeboards. The cottage has a three-window range with two-light casements that include a central transom and brick arches. There are pentice boards above the gable window. The chimney stack, which is from the early 17th century, has had its top external section rebuilt in the 19th century. The cottage consists of three bays divided into three cells, with the cells on either side of the stack featuring stop-chamfered spine beams and bressumers, as well as large joists. Some stud work is visible in the ground and first-floor gable end walls.
