Description

Decoy Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a 17th-century wing and an early 19th-century front range, with 20th-century additions and alterations. The construction is timber-framed with plaster and a colour-washed brick face, and features a plain-tiled hipped roof. The earlier rear wing has a pantiled roof. The building is arranged in an "L" shape, with a lobby entrance. It has two storeys and a five-window front. The windows are sash windows in flush frames, with glazing bars; the window on the extreme left has a higher cill. A porch with Tuscan pilasters, an entablature, and a pediment shelters a six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above. A brick plat band runs along the front. A red brick axial stack is present. The rear wing has scattered windows, which are 20th-century casements. A boarded door is protected by a gauged brick arch. The rear of the front range includes an outshut and a two-storey flat-roofed corner addition from the 20th century. Internally, some interior features include stopped-chamfered beams.
