Description
Gobblecock Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on the Sutton Broxtead Estate. It is constructed of rubble flint with red and white brick dressings and features a thatched roof. The cottage is single storey, with the entrance front displaying a central plank door flanked by three-light casement windows that have flat heads. The openings are accented with brick quoins and voussoirs, and there are brick quoins at the corners of the building. The roof is hipped and includes a central brick stack with two flues. The sides of the building also have three-light casements, which feature cambered heads. At the rear, there is a 20th-century outshut located at the center. This cottage is noted as the sole surviving intact example of a gamekeeper's cottage on this shooting estate.
